Vitensenteret i Trondheim

Today was Sunday (and Mother's day!) and the weather changed back to being a bit chilly and rainy so we looked for an indoor activity. We decided on the Science Centre which was geared towards kids. After a breakfast of omelets with ham and tomatoes made by Nic and Gwyneth we were on our way. The busses do not run as often on Sunday but we were still down town quickly and the museum was a short walk from the city center. The "family price" was 150 Kroner or about $22 which would be less than a comparative outing in the US. The museum was full of hands-on activities for kids which demonstrated some scientific principle. There were lots of things to do and the kids were engaged for a long time. Some of our favorites: The bridge you can build and walk over. The crazy mirror that made your head look enormous.

The game where you keep a ping-pong ball aloft with a blow dryer.

Mindball - where the ball moves away from the person with the lowest level of brain activity (Guess whose brain had a lower level of activity - Nic's or Gwyneth's?)

Ethan also particularly liked a video game where you controlled a mini-sub.
When we finally dragged the kids out they were pretty tired, but we forced them to walk over to a scenic bridge which was only a little out of the way.
We finally made it home for some laundry and spaghetti dinner. It was a pretty quiet night. We got to see a Hannah Montana episode in English with Norwegian subtitles that was on previously, but had been dubbed into Norwegian. It made a lot more sense this time!
